Two large spheres made of Xuan paper and starch paste — crafted using the technique of traditional Chinese paper lanterns — form the core of the installation. One sphere appears wrinkled, covered with red wool threads resembling veins; the other is smooth, yet veins are slowly beginning to spread across its surface.
The two bodies were placed in adjacent rooms, unable to see one another directly. Yet from each sphere, red threads extend into the wall, embedded within it, creating a symbolic connection between them.
The work evokes a personal experience: the relationship between mother and daughter, living in different countries yet bound by invisible lines. Blood, genes, memory — they persist, making one ever more like the other.
