rotelinie

The exhibition rotelinie was realized as part of the Hegenbarth Scholarship, awarded by the Dresden Foundation for Art & Culture of the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden. It took the form of a dual presentation with Si Cheng and Gleb Konkin-v. Serebrowski.

At its core lies the metaphor of the red line — a symbol deeply rooted in various cultural traditions: as an image of fate, of invisible bonds between people, but also of boundaries that must not be crossed. Within this field of tension between intimacy, determination, and cultural signification, the works unfold, addressing both personal experience and universal questions of body, memory, and transformation.

As part of the exhibition rotelinie (redline), three light objects unfold in quiet connection: two wall-mounted pieces and a suspended body titled “Newborn.” Red cables run through them like umbilical cords. They do more than connect — they transmit light, as if energy, memory, and movement pass through them continuously.
